DIGITAL DRVGS is a brand new Electro-project from the USA, making its first appearance on YOUNG & COLD RECORDS with the self-titled debut album and delivering safe material for the dance floors of doomy clubs and parties.
The musicians originally come from the Electronic-Dance Music- and Club-scene and have now discovered their preference for the darker side of electronic sounds, which, according to the musicians, are inspired by bands such as Bauhaus and Joy Division, although this is not immediately apparent.
Instead, there is a driving, always danceable mixture of Darkwave, EBM and Dance-Electro that will quickly win over a few DJs and their listeners in the clubs. A song like „Funeral Party“ is sure to quickly establish itself as a hit, thanks to its catchiness, which here and there is reminiscent of bands like Traitrs (albeit without guitar). „Lagrimas“ is very close to Techno and captivates with its hypnotic Spanish vocals...it will get Cyber Goths dancing at once.
In general, DIGITAL DRVGS clearly fits into the wave of electronic Darkwave bands of recent years, which is strongly inspired by the sound of the 90s. If the album hits the clubs, DIGITAL DRVGS could quickly become scene favorites.
