Between 2017 and 2021, Sixth June-member Laslo Antal regularly released music of his solo project DIESEIN. After the 2021 album „Even the Best are the Worst“(re-released on vinyl in 2024), the label is now presenting DIESEIN's ALL NEW album, which is sure to delight existing fans. But even those who love 80s-style Electrowave and are not yet familiar with DIESEIN should give it a listen.
The mix of Electro, Darkwave, Synthpop and Italo Disco has remained the same, of course, with the Italo-influence being stronger in „Pain“ and then, as in „Monday Morning“, (Cold-) Wave echoes of Depeche Mode in the second half of the 80s coming into the centre. „I Like It/I Hate It“ moves between these two poles, bringing to mind bands such as Clan Of Xymox, Trisomie 21, Twice A Man and, more recently, Martial Canterel or Linea Aspera.
Despite the musical similarities to the mentioned bands, DIESEIN is much more than a simple copy, having developed a style on its own, which comes alive above all through the catchy production and the „warm“ voice of Laslo Antal, offering both songs for the club dance floors and quieter tracks for listening at home this autumn. It is quite likely that „I Like It/I Hate It“ can already be described as one of THE Wave-albums of the year. The album also features the original SIXTH JUNE singer Lidija Andonov on two tracks.
