To mark the 35th anniversary of PROJECT PITCHFORK, “Entities” (Hypnobeat, 1992) is being reissued. An album that signified a decisive step in the band’s evolution and consistently led their sound further into depth.
With “Entities”, Peter Spilles, the driving and guiding force behind PROJECT PITCHFORK, shaped an album that did not merely translate darkness into sound, but made it palpable. The songs feel denser, more focused, almost claustrophobic. They flow seamlessly into one another, reinforcing the impression of a cohesive, uninterrupted current of sound. Electronic structures merge with threatening atmospheres and insistent lyrics to form a rigorously composed sonic cosmos.

On the occasion of the anniversary, “Entities” now appears in a revised sonic edition, newly remastered by Robin Schmidt (24-96 Mastering). With a refined sense for dynamics, space and structure, the original sound has been sharpened without smoothing out its dark density. The seamless transitions between the tracks have been deliberately preserved in the mastering process and carefully considered in the vinyl production. Details emerge with greater clarity, while the oppressive atmosphere remains fully intact.
“Entities” is another striking chapter in the history of PROJECT PITCHFORK. An album far ahead of its time, whose impact remains undiminished to this day.
