Close to 40 years have gone by since, but the pure energy of LEICHENSCHREI by "Socialistisches Patienten Kollektiv" is still very much ALIVE! A true reference and absolute highlight in Industrial culture and muzak.
GRAEME REVELL wrote a new (2019) Le ichenschrei Testament/Tribute for this re-release. Those writings have been integrated into the cover notes, in order to introduce ‘new’ and unexperienced listeners to this "Magnum Opera".
It all starts off with ominous electronics, muffled voices talking about guillotines and icy bodies and death. Dark. Very dark. Electronic industrial drums and percussion, voices in a frightening oppressive stance… bits and pieces of autopsy tapes, some insane schizoid monologues from a woman babbling about rape, syphilis, mind control… and we didn’t pass much more than 5 minutes on this outstanding recording.
"Leichenschrei" ("screaming corpse” in German) is one of the absolutely darkest musical opus of the early Industrial years. Terribly dynamic and organic. A MUST HAVE for all lovers of Industrial muzak and its roots.
