"In the mid 80s I received a very nice, hand-written letter from a certain Andreas Tomalla. It was a thank-you letter for one of my reviews in my music magazine (New Life) for his project “MOSKWA TV”. In his letter, he also mentioned a “Techno Club” that he had just founded in Frankfurt….
A few weeks later, I travelled to Frankfurt and visited the “Techno Club” for the first time (then still located at “Roxanne”, in the city centre). It was the beginning of a friendship that continues to this day, and Tomalla quickly became famous under his DJ- and musician name TALLA 2XLC – and he’s also known and respected as founder of labels ZOTH OMMOG, TECHNODROME INTERNATIONAL, NEW ZONE and many others...
Last year, the Techno Club celebrated its 40th anniversary with a 4CD box set of mostly “dance-oriented” tracks, which was a resounding success.
Now a special VINYL edition has been released, which focuses more on the musical beginnings of the Techno Club. The two vinyls contain a total of 12 unmixed tracks by legends of the early techno club years, such as Kraftwerk, Yello, Soft Cell, Front 242, Heaven 17, Zwischenfall, Anne Clark... and, of course, Talla's own project MOSKWA TV." - Sebastian Koch/Audioglobe
