Started in 2020, LEVA is the Alternative Post Punk / Goth Rock solo project of Bologna-based Italian musician and composer Leonardo Cannatella (former vocalist and guitarist of BeStrass and drummer of The Black Veils).
Rooted in neo-psychedelia, he combines dynamic Post Punk / Goth Rock with oneiric tunes, accompanied by a melodic vocal line. All the songs keep the same basis and develop each particularity. “Clumsy Falls” is an highlight of this wonderful album, but also “Indelible Memories” and so many other songs.
Enhanced by spellbinding, shimmery atmospheric squalls of a McGeoch (Magazine, Siouxsie and the Banshees) like guitar work, “Dirt And Dust” is a soul-stirring song about stubbornness, quitting the world, and the mental anguish involved in admitting the mistakes of one’s past.
