Second album by this French act, who’s self-titled debut was released last September, and gained a lot of highly positive response! Their musical style is based on music from the 80’s (Minimal Synth, EBM, New Wave, SynthWave) and some artistic influences such as German expressionism, word art, and painting.
The sound of this promising duo can easily be definied as cold, mechanical and catchy. Hammershøi represents the voices and thoughts of Anne and Ben, mixed and inseparable. The period lived during the production of “Cathédrales" album allowed introspection, which is the main theme. The music is danceable and martial, the texts personal and uncompromising. As for the previous album, Anne and Ben are Hammershøi, accompanied by synthesizers, drum machine and vocal effects.
