Fusing dark 80s stylings with modern flourishes, Urban Heat formed in 2019 with Jonathan Horstmann enlisting Kevin Naquin and Paxel Foley to form a live show based around his analog sound design. Undeniably danceable, with melodic synths layered over heavy hitting bass lines, Urban Heat signed to Artoffact Records in 2023 and offers their first album, Wellness, in a deluxe, expanded edition.
Thanks in part to 'Have You Ever' becoming a minor TikTok hit last year, Urban Heat has taken Austin's clubs and America's goth underground in such a blitz that it feels like it suddenly arose from the ether.
