ISON was born in the mid ‘10s by Draconian singer Heike Langhans and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Änghede (Hearts of Black Science, ex-Crippled Black Phoenix). Long out of print, Cosmic Drone was the first output of the then-duo, an album born from Änghede’s wish for a “home project”.
As Daniel stated in a recent interview on Messedmag: “I started ISON to have a home project, something I could work with on my own when I didn’t have anything with CBP, and I decided from the start to learn how to do it all by myself, and that means everything from writing the songs to recording and mixing the music. It was a test project to see what I could do on my own but I soon realized that it was more than a side project because I love to work with music this way”.
Six years after its original publication, Cosmic Drone is made available again on CD. The dreamy, delicate soundscapes of ISON first release were greatly missed, and it was Avantgarde Music duty to bring them back.
Released 2021 by Avantgarde Music.
