After the acclaimed album (s)àcrata (2017), VIDEO DIVA return five years later with their new album OXI. Remaining faithful to their sound, a trademark born from the union of various facets of post-punk, electro-wave and Italian 80s underground music, with OXI the sound evolves further into rich and complex arrangements and structures, influenced by genres and solutions usually not common in the band's sphere of reference. Put OXI wherever you want, the only certainty is that it is undoubtedly a Video Diva record.
The album features two guest stars, that are famous especially in Italy: Mara Redeghieri of highly popular Italian act Üstmamò (on Virgin Records), and Nicola Vannini, legendary first singer of 80s wave-act Diaframma, and later active as 'Soul Hunter' (and one of the founders and owners of Audioglobe…).
OXI (from the Greek όχι - NO) 28 October 1940; the Duce's first defeat as Hitler's new ally. A peremptory NO that does not allow nuances today as yesterday, a NO to neo-fascism and discrimination but also a real NO to indifference towards the inevitable inner consternation. A NO to the subtle, creeping reproposition of fascist canons.
Released Late March 2022 by SwissDarkNights.
