Some bands seem to stay underground, no matter how many positive reviews or raving comments they get with every new release. Götterdämmerung is definitely one of those bands. They crashed unto the postpunk/ deathrock/ gothic scene in the early 90’s and seemed to reach their peak with 2007’s “Of Whores and Culture “and the “Urban Gothic “project in 2012. That is until they rose from the ashes with a fresh line-up and a brand new release in 2022 (“Intensity Zone”, Vinyl and CD). This album proved that they had lost nothing of the punky raw spirit that fuelled the early days of the band. Götterdämmerung never likes to do the same thing twice, so after the shortest break between records, the next chapter is titled “A violent Sky” and the mood of the album is very different from the previous release. The songs are atmospheric, more experimental and the beats are infectious. The original Götterdämmerung sound is more present than ever, but there’s room for acoustic guitars, screaming synths and even fretless bass.
